Sherri D. Camps has 23 years of professional court management experience in executive leadership positions with local, state and federal courts, joined the San Francisco Superior Court in mid-January to serve as the new Assistant Chief Executive Officer.

Barbara Cockerham has 20 years of management experience with the California State Courts. She has worked in multiple court jurisdictions prior to coming to work for the San Francisco Superior Court in 2006. Her background is primarily civil and criminal.

An overview of civil procedure calendaring requirements in California state and federal courts with an emphasis on applicable calendaring deadlines and techniques. Ideal for litigation secretaries, calendar/docket clerks and coordinators, paralegals and case clerks with some basic civil procedure experience. Topics will include venue and jurisdiction, filing of the complaint, service of process, responsive pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and methods of disposition.

Elaine Screechfield/Michael Borden/Bill Makinney
Elaine Screechfield is Firm-wide Docket Manager at Morrison & Foerster LLP. Mrs. Screechfield attended University of California-Davis and the University of San Diego School of Paralegal Studies. She is a member of the San Francisco Association for Docket, Calendar & Court Services and has lectured at numerous forums including the San Francisco Bar Association; San Francisco Legal Secretaries Association; Bay Area Legal Secretaries Forum and the Legal Secretary College of California, where she also was a member of the Board of Advisors.
Michael Borden is the Managing Clerk at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. Mr. Borden was previously Calendar Manager at Morrison Foester LLP, McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen LLP (now Bingham McCutchen LLP) and New Business/Conflicts Manager at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. He is a co-founder of the San Francisco Association for Docket, Calendar & Court Services.
Bill Makinney is Manager of the Firm-wide Calendar Docket Department at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. Mr. Makinney attended Loyola Marymount University and University of San Francisco Law School. He is co-founder and chair of the San Francisco Association for Docket, Calendar & Court Services, served on the board of the Law Office Support Organizations and he has lectured at numerous forums including Heald College; Bay Area Legal Secretaries Forum; San Francisco Legal Secretaries Association; Association of Records Managers and Administrators and Legal Secretary College of California. He has participated as a moderator for CounselConnect™, and is a member of the LexixNexis CourtLink Western Region Advisory Board.
